"The Belle Femme" translates from French into English as "The Beautiful Woman" as was an original painting made entirely out of makeup and cosmetic accessories.
Hello beautiful ladies and everyone in the fashion community. I am Kathleen Sumpton, meaning "something pure" and I identify as a cis bi woman. I made this piece thinking about what it means to be a woman.
The elements included in this makeup painting are foundation, eye products, and liquid lipstick. The rainbow colour combined with the puzzle piece theme means every woman is beautiful for her multifaceted self.
In keeping with that concept, the design is now available in many formats particularly clothing, bringing the idea to life. Each person who wears or utilizes the style in some way will feel connected to their own self within the greater universe.
This collection contains ladies apparel but it should be noted that future paintings will be created, designed, and styled for the purpose of menswear, non-gendered clothing, and more. Each piece aspires to have a symbolic, deeper meaning for each person to relate to.
